New JuneBug short film debuts Sept. 19 in Cary

Junebug - Behind the Scenes from ContinuousTake Productions on Vimeo.

JuneBug, a short film written and directed by Hannah Sink will debut on Sept. 19 at the Cary Theatre. Filmed entirely in North Carolina it features a NC cast and crew as well.

In her film, Hannah explores how a child deals with grief. Juniper Rose, Junebug to her great aunt, has ceased to speak after the loss of her mother. Sink draws on her own experience of loss, saying "easy lives don't make great stories!"

JuneBug screens as part of the Rough Cuts Review series at the Cary. This free screening series provides an opportunity for local filmmakers to show works-in-progress and engage in conversation with other local filmmakers and the public about their work. Joseph Partin, Film and English Professor at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, NC, will lead the discussion.

Free tickets to the 7 p.m. screening on Tuesday, Sept. 19, can be reserved on the Cary Theater website.

FYI: This is not the same "Junebug" film (also made in North Carolina) for which Amy Adams received Best Supporting Actress recognition in 2006.
